Exploding in Space


This is special, this marks the state of the game just before I started to break up it's core game engine.

  • Fully working controls, including sensors and advanced maneuvering:  stabilize the ship, face the selected target and align velocity to the target - using only the simulated maneuver engine abilities of the ship - no cheating!
  • Layered camera setup: The player sees the outside of the synchronized "outside" ship overlayed by the stationary "inside" ship. Every Rigidbody close to the ship exists twice: outside and inside.
  • A giant glass box restricts the ship, having a future game mode for dogfights in mind. The stationary ship is hidden inside the small moon.
  • Energy and damage system ready to be used in any Ggameobjekt.

I had to try many different settings so that the layered cameras work as intended in the WebGL build...
